ViViAD Claim Triage

ViViAD Claim Triage

Free diagnostic, reviewed by our team.

Know where you stand before you escalate.

the ViViAD Claim Triage is a structured diagnostic for contractors facing a potential claim or dispute.

Work through it in about 8 minutes, with your project records to hand. As soon as you finish, you receive an instant scored result on screen and a written breakdown by email, showing where your position is strong, where it is exposed, and what to focus on next. Your responses also come to our team, and we follow up within one working day with our own view and an offer to talk it through.

Even if you don't discuss the results with us, the process itself will sharpen your thinking. The questions are structured the way we open a real engagement, and working through them with your team will surface gaps that are easier to fix now than to explain later.

Why use our triage?

A triage gives you a framework, and a professional eye.

The Claim Triage is structured the way we structure the opening days of a real engagement. It scores your position across four weighted dimensions:

  • the contractual gateway
  • records
  • programme evidence
  • quantum

and assesses a further set of factors that shape our recommendation:

  • causation
  • the commercial relationship
  • internal alignment, and
  • your desired outcome

Crucially, it treats time and money as separate questions. Extension of time and cost recovery often run on different contractual gateways, and a missed EoT notice does not necessarily bar a cost claim. The triage assesses each independently, so a difficulty on time does not wrongly condemn a recoverable cost position.

Complete it, and two things happen.

  • First, the process itself forces your team to think through questions that are easier to confront now than in an adjudicator's timetable. That structured thinking is yours to keep, regardless of what happens next.
  • Second, you receive your scored result immediately, and your responses come to our team. We read them, score them against our own framework, and follow up within one working day with a written view and an offer to talk it through.

No charge. No obligation. No sales follow-up if you don't want one.

What your result means.

The triage scores your position from 0 to 100 across the four weighted dimensions.

Weak - do not escalate yet

Most claims begin here. For the majority, the position is recoverable. The weaknesses are the fixable kind, and the work is far cheaper done now than after escalation. Only in a minority of cases where notice is definitively missed, records are thin, and causation cannot be shown is the honest advice not to escalate.

Recoverable with focused work

The case is recoverable, but only with targeted work on the weakest dimensions. Our summary identifies exactly which to prioritise. This is where we typically help most, and where the follow-up call is most valuable.

Strong opening position

You have a defensible opening position. Our written summary confirms the strengths and flags any remaining gaps worth tightening before you instruct a delay analyst or legal adviser.

Start the triage now

Work through it with your project records open.

The diagnostic takes about 8 minutes and scores your position across four weighted claim-readiness dimensions. You receive an instant result, and ViViAD reviews your responses and follows up within one working day with a written summary of where your position appears strong, where it may be exposed, and what to focus on next.

Our focus is time-related entitlement, programme evidence, and delay and EoT strategy. Where specialist quantum substantiation is required, we may recommend referral to trusted partners we work with regularly.

Your responses are reviewed by ViViAD only.

We treat all information as confidential. The triage does not ask for project or client names, so you can complete it without disclosing anything identifying, and we are happy to sign an NDA before any more detailed discussion.

Not ready for the triage yet?

If you would rather talk before you write anything down, we are happy to start with a conversation. Book a 30-minute call and we will work through the key questions together.

Common questions.

Why do we offer this for free?

We offer the triage free because it helps both sides quickly understand whether there is a sensible basis for further work.

If the position is genuinely exposed, we would rather tell you early than encourage unnecessary escalation. Most positions are not hopeless. They are recoverable with focused work, and the triage identifies where that work matters most: EoT strategy, programme evidence, contractual positioning, protecting a cost claim where the time claim is difficult, or referral to a trusted quantum partner.

What happens with my responses?

Your completed triage comes to our team. We review it, score it against our own framework, and send you a written summary within one working day - along with an offer to discuss it over a 30-minute call. We treat everything you share as confidential.

Can you sign a Non Disclosure Agreement before we complete the triage?

Yes, please get in touch with us via the contact form or at info@viviad.co.uk and we will be happy to sign an NDA.

Who should complete it?

Ideally a project team - one commercial, one planning, one operational representative, working from contemporaneous records. The triage is designed to surface gaps that a single person might not see.

Does it cost anything?

No. The triage, the written summary, and the follow-up call are all free and without obligation. We offer this because the triage does better qualifying than any sales conversation - and because the contractors who benefit most from our services tend to be the ones who take a structured approach to assessing their position.

Does this replace proper legal or expert advice?

No. The triage is a structured diagnostic, not a formal opinion. It tells you whether the foundations are in place to pursue a claim and where to focus if they are not. It is designed to be completed before you commission a forensic delay or quantum analysis or engage lawyers, not instead of doing so.

What if my score is low?

That is the most valuable outcome the triage can give you. A weak claim that gets pursued costs more than the damage it was meant to recover. Our written summary will explain the specific weak points and suggest alternative routes. Knowing early, and adjusting the approach accordingly, is a professional act, not a failure.

What if I don't want a follow-up call?

That's fine. You still receive the written summary, and you are under no obligation to respond. Many contractors find the real value is in the process itself - the structured questions force your team to think through dimensions of claim readiness that don't usually get examined until it's too late. That thinking is yours to keep.
